New lighting in the st. hippolytus church in gelsenkirchen-horst

In spring 2020 we were allowed to install new lighting in the parish church of St. Hippolytus in Gelsenkirchen-Horst for the parish of St. Hippolytus. The parish church St. Hippolytus is a listed neo-gothic church, which was built in 1897. Inside, the impressive white ceiling and the cantoned columns immediately make a very impressive impression on the visitor. However, the lighting was now outdated and partly no longer functional, which is why the lighting had to be fundamentally revised. Lambda Light and Media Design first created a detailed lighting concept, which was then implemented step by step into reality. For this project we used high quality headlights from Chauvet Professional, which convinced all along the line and exactly met our requirements. Besides that the following points were of great importance for the lighting concept:

  • Switching to energy-efficient LEDs

  • Highlighting the architectural highlights through lighting

  • Structural changes that are as minimally invasive as possible

  • Intuitive and simple control of the lighting system

In close consultation with the parish, all work was completed within two months and the church with the new lighting system was handed back to the parish. During the complete reconstruction the church could continue to be used to its normal extent and the necessary drilling work etc. was carried out outside the hours of use. LED perimeter-Systems national and international

Since 2016, we have been supporting various football clubs in the implementation of LED gang technology on match days. This includes consulting, content creation and implementation on the match days.

In addition to the national sports events in football, Lambda Light and Media Design has already been responsible for the LED perimeter board technology at numerous other sports events. These range from the final day of the amateur football team to ski jumping in the Black Forest. At all times our customers could rely on a high degree of professionalism, so that their advertising partners could be optimally noticed on site as well as during TV broadcasts.

We were able to prove our expertise not only in Germany, but also in a number of different countries within and outside the EU.

CIM rom 2018

In August 2018 we were allowed to accompany the dioceses of Essen and Aachen to Rome for the international altar boy pilgrimage. The core of our assignment was the illumination of the Basilica Santa Maria in Trastevere as well as the Basilica Santi XII Apostoli within Rome. After detailed planning in advance, we were able to put three church services in the right light perfectly.

In the preliminary discussions, the organisation team emphasised a few points as particularly important, which Lambda Light and Media Design was able to implement completely and thus complete the order to the highest satisfaction:

  • All lamps used were rented locally in Italy in order to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible.

  • All lamps used had an integrated rechargeable battery, which enabled them to operate independently of the respective power supply system of the churches. The control data was also sent to the lamps in draftless form, which allowed a very free illumination of the churches.

  • Due to the low effort in installation and dismantling, Lambda Light and Media Design was able to carry out the necessary work in the churches in a very short time.

  • The logistics were carried out by us together with the musicians for the church services, which meant that even fewer resources had to be used.

All in all we were able to support the altar servers' pilgrimage from beginning to end without any problems and to illuminate two absolutely impressive churches.

Illumination Essener Münster 2018

Before we left for Rome for the CIM 2018, we were allowed to equip the sending out ceremony of the diocese of Essen for all altar boys and girls. We developed an individual lighting concept for the Essen Cathedral.

As Lambda Light and Media Design has already illuminated several churches, we were able to rely on a wealth of experience and thus realise the optimal lighting. However, there were some challenges to get the production successfully behind us:

  • The setup and dismantling took place on the same day.

  • In order to reduce the cabling to a minimum, Lambda Light and Media Design relied on many battery lamps, which also transmitted the signal wirelessly.

  • Due to the early set-up and the rehearsals in advance, the use of the batteries had to be cleverly planned so that the church could be lit brightly all the time during the sending out ceremony.

  • The light was adjusted to the situation and created a nice atmosphere during the sending out ceremony.

Event technology at various major events

Since the beginning in 2016 we have been able to accompany many events. We have either been commissioned with the complete planning and support, or booked as pure specialists for specific tasks. Every task has its own charm and we can proudly look back on many different events.

So far we have been on the road in various countries of the world, where we have taken on a wide variety of tasks. These range from light programming and light operating to technical support for event technology and the temporary installation of laser shows.

Each order had its own challenge, which Lambda Light and Media Design was able to master each time. We would like to thank all our clients for the trust they have placed in us and look forward to many more exciting productions.

Atomospheric illumination of the liebfrauenkirche in gelsenkirchen-beckhausen

Since 2016 we have been supporting the Liebfrauen community in Gelsenkirchen-Beckhausen in many different technical issues. Since 2016, we have been regularly equipping various church services with additional event technology, have already permanently installed a small lighting system and regularly adjust the colour scheme of the spotlights in the church.

In 2019 we were allowed to completely convert the partner church in Gelsenkirchen-Sutum to energy-saving LED lamps. This brings enormous advantages in electricity costs, protects the environment and the church now shines anew. It was important that all light sources reach a colour temperature of 2700 Kelvin, so that all light sources illuminate the church in the same colour temperature.

We are looking forward to many more exciting implementations in the Liebfrauenkirche!
